Intro
The popular NPC meme came on the scene a few years ago and even more so during the COVID scam. Then it continued with the Russia/Ukraine (NATO) conflict.
An NPC comes from the video game world and stands for Non-Playable Character. In role-playing games there are characters in the world around the protagonist which have basic scripts they follow to move the game along, or just to add a bit of depth/realness. They’re either just there for background purposes while others might have a programmed set of responses the player can interact with.
The last few years broke the dam open with this concept in the real world. Seemingly smart people couldn’t break out of the media programming. People that were otherwise smart by society’s standards, but lacked critical thinking as well as ‘street smarts’ to see through the lies.
Maybe they had a few fancy fancy degrees, an MBA, a JD, or they were an MD, but blindly believe ‘The $cience’ and its priests such as Fauci and Bill Gates.
I think we all know at least one of these people. Those that come from a left-leaning area most definitely know more than one.
It’s ironic how they’ve been wrong on just about everything regarding COVID. The lockdowns, the jabs, the masks. All turned out to be a farce.
If we look past the COVID narrative and think more generally, there’s a lot of people – from lower to upper classes – that fit the NPC meme as well. People that rely on their animalistic instincts and generally can’t think critically. Relational thinking, as I’ve written about before, is critical to understanding the world, and is lacking in such ‘NPCs’. They have a very linear way of thinking and are caught up in the material world.
As a disclaimer, this post isn’t meant to disparage anyone. All people have the same fundamental rights and should have the same access for life’s opportunities (remember, opportunities, not outcomes).
This post is meant to shed light on an observation I’ve made, which crystallized particularly since COVID started. And the more I consider this theme, the more it makes perfect sense.
Gnosticism and their classification system
The Gnostics were not one people, but a collection of beliefs that focused around the teachings of Jesus. Around the first century A.D. they began practicing a form of Christianity that was later rooted out by the church due to various contradictions with their doctrine.
Gnosticism comes from the Greek word gnōstikós, which translates to ‘having knowledge’. Followers believed that through various practices and traditions, they’d gain salvation from the material world, which they considered as a sort of prison. That’s where the ‘gnosis’ comes into play.
Gnosis can come suddenly or gradually. It can be a torrential rush, completely overwhelming the person. It is available to all but one needs to understand fundamentals of the symbols and words used to communicate such themes.
In the Gnostic Christian tradition, Christ is seen as a divine being which has taken human form in order to lead humanity back to recognition of its own divine nature.
They believed that the material world was created by a demiurge, and the physical plane was a sort of punishment. By using such esoteric teachings and practices, they believed it was possible to achieve divinity, and thus escape the trap set forth by the lesser God, the demiurge. It’s a fascinating belief system.
They broke down humanity into categories based on divine spark within them. Let’s take a look at those.
Pneumatics
Weird name, I know. This isn’t a post about engineering, I promise.
Pneumatics are classified as the highest form of divine humans.
They are enlightened individuals who have successfully broken though the material world. These beings are extremely rare and are extremely knowledgeable on occult concepts, so much so that they become deified.
The pneumatics, are, in my opinion, the ‘divine beings’ we associate with throughout history. E.g. Jesus, Buddha, Thoth from Egyptian traditions, Hermes from Greek traditions. Even adepts of various mystery schools and secret societies can be lumped in here to various degrees – individuals such as Pythagoras, Plato, Marcus Aurelius, Francis Bacon, as examples.
Whether or not these people had help, such as those from royalty which provided direct access to adepts of the Mysteries, isn’t always the case. Buddha came from royalty. As did Marcus Aurelius. Some gain tremendous wisdom at a young age, but others in adulthood.
Psychics
The second group is one level below the pneumatics. They are known as the psychics.
People given enough knowledge to be intelligent AND aware, but not enlightened just yet. From a resource on Gnosticism,
These souls are at the in-between stage of gnosis. They can accept that there is a world beyond the flesh however they are still fighting between what their eyes see and what their heart feels. A combination of thinking and feeling.
This type materializes as philosophers, scholars, and intellectuals.
The psychic can only move on toward the final pneumatic stage when they give up their literalistic interpretation of religions teachings and instead begin to have a true relationship with pleroma. Gnosis is based in experience not empty headed faith that something miraculous is supposed to happen.
The exoteric teachings of major religions provide incredible truths, but they’re buried under the literal interpretations and teachings. To graduate up the ladder of gnosis means reading between the lines for the true, esoteric teachings.
Hylics (Somatics)
The lowest form of divine energy. These humans are driven by their animal instincts.
These are, essentially, the NPCs as we call them today.
They don’t have any higher-order intellectual capabilities. They’re stuck in the reptilian, or oldest, part of the brain.
Somatics/Hylics: The body of the human being composed of flesh (sarx) which is a form of matter (hyle) albeit endowed temporarily with biological life. In plain English- these types of souls depend on the flesh to tell them right from wrong. The 'worldly' people. Pure emotion and living in the now for pleasure. The collectors of exotic cars, homes, and million dollar gems are just as likely to be somatic souls as is the person who obsessively and compulsively hoards food, clothes, or any other easily collectible and likely-to-be-obsessed-over items as if their life depended on it. They put their worth in the things they have collected. If their things suddenly disappeared or were taken away from them they would feel worthless as a human being.
They have no awareness, or gnosis, of the spirit world, and are thus obsessed with everything in the material world. They don’t want to attain any form of gnosis because they’re unable to grasp such concepts.
Somatics were human in form, but since their entire focus was on the material world, such as eating, sleeping, mating or creature comforts, they were seen as doomed. The pneumatic saw himself as escaping the doom of the material world via the secret knowledge. Somatics were thought to be incapable of understanding.
This last quote is a bit sad, I must admit.
But if we’re honest with ourselves and take an objective look at the world, the above quotes ring true at several points.
Modern Hylics
Does the description above sound eerily similar to what are referred to as NPCs today?
To reiterate what I wrote above, particularly during COVID times, seemingly smart people fell for the propaganda time and time again – and many still are! People that may have fancy degrees but lack critical thinking and street smarts to see through the propaganda.
People that are simply waiting for the next narrative, or software download as some refer to as, in order to tell them what to think.
It’s a scary proposition but it seems to make sense. The Gnostics were on to something, that’s for sure.
Free will?
Do modern hylics, as described above, have free will? Are they conscious enough to understand their actions and behaviors? Or are they simply operating on a base, animalistic level of instincts and emotion?
You might be surprised to read this, but there are many people in the world that don’t have an inner monologue. Check out this description from IFLScience.com,
What it's like not to have a monologue
After people had called the poor Redditor a non-playable character enough times to get it out of their systems, several people (including the OP) described what it's actually like to not have an internal monologue.
“So if your boss asks you to do something right at the point you were planning to leave work you don’t think ‘oh f***ing s**t b*lls what a pain? in your head, while saying ‘No problem at all boss,’ out loud?” one user asked.
“No. Never had that," Vadermaulkylo responded. "If I’m asked to do something I don’t wanna do, I just get kinda frustrated but that’s about it. I don’t really think to myself.”
Others confirmed their experience was similar.
"I’m the same way," said user GohanShmohan. "I don’t have any conscious thought about what I’m feeling, or any stream of dialogue describing it to myself. I just feel it. It’s like the inner dialogue is the middle man in my head, who just isn’t there."
This isn’t exactly what a hylic would be, per se, but it’s a lot closer in line to it. It’s about feeding into the animalistic – and instinctual – nature of man. As the above user mentioned, they don’t have any conscious thought – it’s about a feeling or sensation. For those that have an inner dialogue, it’s hard to imagine what this would be like.
Having a rich inner experience is hallmark of humanity in many ways. It gives way to imagination, to art, to exploring ideas.
Implications / Conclusion
Again, this article isn’t meant to degrade anyone. My research has led me to believe, more or less, that all people are like drops in the ocean of a vast universal consciousness. And that we all have the divine spark in us.
I also saw, particularly during COVID, that a frightening number of the populace lacks any meaningful level of critical thought, are lacking in fundamental principles, have any knowledge of history, and/or align with the NPC/hylic description I’ve outlined in this article.
While it’s important to have empathy or some level of understanding, the masses also enable the social engineers to enact their agendas. To strip us liberty-minded people of our freedoms. That’s why we can’t just live our lives and leave the rest behind – we’re really all in this together.
Look at how collectives of people, for example in conservative areas of the US, just ignored many mandates the government either tried to implement or used as guidance. I visited South Dakota in 2020 and it was glorious to see people living without fear. Life was essentially normal. I also visited the Florida coast a few months later and witnessed the same.
On the other hand, Taiwan just removed outdoor mask requirements on December 1, 2022. Yes, OUTDOOR mask requirements this late into the scam.
I know part of the culture in Asia is about saving face, but this level of cowardness is insane. Maybe they’re not all NPCs, but just a bunch of weak people. Who knows.
Not understanding the absolute crimes being leveled against you is one thing, but recognizing said crimes and doing nothing about it is much, much worse. Do they not have internet to see how open many parts of the world are, and have been for a long time now?
But anyway, as much as I enjoyed thinking about, researching, and writing this article, it does freak me out a bit. Were the Gnostics right all along? What implications does this have for the future of humanity? What percentage of people fall into the three categories?
These are all questions I’ll continue to ponder. Maybe you will, too.

I would love to see more articles on this subject. Very thought provoking.
I do have inner monologue (all the time), and I am critical thinker, BUT anyway, I believed in the scam for two years - and even got 3 jabs of Moderna... How was this possible? 1. I was so busy with a project that I couldn't lose any time on analyzing the news deeply. 2. I believed that citizens are protected by our constitution and laws - I believed that authorities do mean well. I wasn't able to imagine that anyone could be so evil to hurt us on purpose. 3. I was distracted by local political right-left fight. 4. I am ashamed, but I have to admit that I believed the psyops that there are people who irrationally believe in different kinds of conspiracies... I believed the narrative that there are "non-vaxxers" who are selfish and enthretening the others. I believed the labels such as "conspiracy theorist", "non-vaxxer", etc. And I think it is important to say that in the spring 2020 I spent enormous time on the social media (Facebook). I have noticed that I am quite aggressive on social media, although in real life, at personal contacts, I rather tend to be tolerant.
So I have to apologize to you too (I have already apologized to all my friends who were trying to warn me, but I didn't believe them because I thought they were manipulated (sic!)).
In my opinion, this is not happening in the rational level, but our unconsciousness has been tricked. I found the answers in Adam Curtis' documentary series "The Century of the Self" (2002), you can find all four parts on Rumble.
